Creative JumpStart 2013 - the end

Thank  you for those who followed my post about CJS 2013. They were not always daily but I prefered crafting to blogging. Now all my posts about Creative JumpStart are about to be done, this is actually the last one.

So I wanted to thank Nathalie Kalbach for organising this wonderful event. I had so much fun with it. I revisited some supplies that I hadn't used in a long time. And my creativity is buzzing like mad at the moment.

So just to end thing I made two pages to close down the Creative JumpStart 2013 Summit.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 31 (n°45)

The very last JumpStart for this summit, Jumpstart 45 by Nathalie Kalbach. A bit sad that it has come to an end but it was so much fun. But very challenging to causse you don't know what they will trow your way.

In this Jump Nathalie told us that there has been a name that was created for the people that play along with the JumpStarters, we are "Jumpers". Well I'm proud to be a Jumper :)

As for the technique that Nat did, it was with special  stencils, and I don't own that kind of stencils. She used the Liquitex Spray paints that I want but don't have (yet). So a bit improvising was needed.
I sprayed with the background with dylusions sprays and the rest with heidi swapp color shine mists and I used two stencils on top of one another and I find the result pretty cool.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 30 (n° 44)

N°44 is the Jumpstart from Anna Dabrowska. I had hoped she would have done something with lots of layers, embellishments and findings, but it wase some photo altering.

I had a photo of a moth lying about. The moth is special I saw it in a butterfly garden in spain. It is a beautiful animal but sadly it only lives for 1 week, doesn't move, doesn't eat is only awake at night and when the week is over, it dies. So I was lucky that they had these when I was there. I just love butterfly gardens.

Back to the Jumpstart Summit. This is my photo alterations on a simple dylusions background.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 29 (n° 43)

A jumpstart about watersoluble crayons. Ronda Palazzari gave me a bit of trouble with this one, because how can you do watersoluble crayons if you don't have any. Well it isn't very easy but I was able to pull off one of her techniques with some inktense blocks from derwent. This is what I made from it.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 28 (n° 41 & 42)

Our lifeline of the JumpStarts continues with another technique by Nathalie Kalbach. It is technique 10 already. This technique is not one of my favourites, not because of the Inktense blocks that are being used, I love these. But the washi tape, isn't really my thing.

And for Jump n° 42 we had a great giveaway by the wonderful people of Derwent.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 27 (n° 39 & 40)

Jamie Dougherty jumped with Acrylic Paints. I simply did what she did as I didn't had much time at that moment but this wasn't very new for me. However it is always good to sometimes halt and remember the easiest and base techniques as they really can come in handy.

The 40th Jump was a giveaway by mystamp Box who is giving away a marvellous stamp set.

What a day, 3 Jumps :)

Firstly n° 36 a giveaway by PanPastel, so great one ot he Donna Downey sets. I so love PanPastels.

Than n° 37 was the Jump from Birgit Koopsen. I liked her Jump she showed us techniques with FabFoil. I sadly couldn't do these techniques as I don't own any FabFoils.

But maybe.... I could get lucky and ....

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 25 (n° 35)

Nat is back, for technique 9 in the Jumpstart series. This time it is to play with texture with gesso.

This was so much fun. Playing with gesso, bubble wrap, a plastic fork, an empty kitchen roll and some artbars. A little piece of heaven on earth if you ask me.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 24 (n° 34)

The Jump from the one and only male Jumpstarter ... Joe Rotella

He gave some cool ways to use double sided adhesive sheets. I tried it with Glitter and boy did I regret that, glitter everywhere ... I can't take all that glitter, so I guess this was a great glitter test. I'm sure now I'm  not a glitter person.

So enjoy this picture because except for stickles you won't see much glitter from me.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 23 (n° 33)

The 33th Jump is from Dina Wakley who showed 3 ways to use stamps. I chose the technique with the PanPastels.

I used distress embossing ink and PanPastels, and the result is amazing, on picture it isn't as viewable, but in real it is like an optic trick and it is very velvety the PanPastels on the embossing ink. This is such a wicked cool technique.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 22 (n° 32)

For this Jump Nathalie is back with Technique number 8 from her and this time it goes about PanPastels. I love those. Every time I work with the PanPastels I have  to think about one special teacher who made me work with the PanPastels for the very first time.

This was the technique from Nathalie:

As I used some rather thin paper I had the stamps come through to the other side, I just had to try the effect and I liked it a lot, very subtle.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 21 (n° 30 & 31)

In Creative Jumpstart Revlie Schuit made us use fabric and or felt.

I love working with fabric and I even love to do needlepoint lace or cross stitching. But the normal stitching that I did here well I wasn't a big fan ...

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 20 (n° 29)

For this technique by Nathalie Kalbach I made 2 versions. As I wasn't convinst about the 1ste I tried to do the same thing with another product and that result is more to my liking.

First I used the Liquitex Inks, like Nat did:

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 19 (n° 28)

Vicky Chrisman did her Jumpstart about bows and her accucut dies for bows.

As I don't have a accucut ant Bows are not very inspiring at the moment for me I will skip this Jumpstart I just don't have a clue what to do with it. It is a nice video with great tips but I think It's just something that is not something I would do.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 18 (n° 26 & n° 27)

The Jumpstart from Carmen Sanchez is something that I looked forward to. Last year she made us make some heavy paper with relief made out of toiletpaper!
So I wondered what she had up her sleave for us this year ... and it were napkins.
I liked the idea very much, but I had to adapt it a bit. I used used kitchen towel. It was full off "excess" ink, so I was pretty coloured. I used it as background. For the rest I followed kind off what Carmen did.

Jump Start 27 was a giveaway and a video by Maya Road. So I decided to make a little something also.

Jump 24 is another Technique by Nathalie Kalbach, technique #6.

I love the techniques by Nathalie, they are very inspirational and educational.

My version was something like this.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 16 (n° 22 & n° 23)

Claudine Hellmuth was the host of Creative JumpStart 2013, jump 22 about transfers.

I tried one on foil with a magazine foto. The photo was very clear before I did the gloss medium step, once it dried it had a lot of fuzzies that became white.

And JumpStart 23 was a giveaway by CocoaDaisy.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 15 (n° 20 & n° 21)

Today everyone woke up to a white blanket outside, yes Belgium has turned white, it has been snowing like mad here where I live. 15 cm isn't something you see often. So it is always special.

Back to Creative Jumpstart and Janna Werner. I combined the 3 techniques she showed. For one I substituted the plain plastic by bubble wrap because I thought it would be cool, and I loved the result.
Just because I didn't want to work on a white page I did a very light background spray.

As I'm a real Ranger fanatic I used the Dylusions sprays for this project.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 14 (n° 19)

The Second week for the Jump Start Summit has come to an end already. Time flies when you're having fun.

Today the Jumpstart was from Rachel Greig. She did a really cool technique with white crayon and distress ink that I used for my JumpStart.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 13 (n° 18)

Techniques with Nathalie Kalbach are always special, always fun to do and I always learn a lot.

This time I learned about the paint I used. I had a bit of trouble with the second layer I used, the paint was very thick and with mixing it with water it became very translucent. So I added another color of paint. This solved the opacity but it also made that I had a thick layer of paint on for the 2nd layer, which made it very difficult to pull off the technique. I did manage to pull it off somehow however and after JumpStart when I have a bit more time I do want to experiment a lot with this technique.
