Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 20 (n° 29)

For this technique by Nathalie Kalbach I made 2 versions. As I wasn't convinst about the 1ste I tried to do the same thing with another product and that result is more to my liking.

First I used the Liquitex Inks, like Nat did:

And after that I took my Ranger Distress Markers:

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 19 (n° 28)

Vicky Chrisman did her Jumpstart about bows and her accucut dies for bows.

As I don't have a accucut ant Bows are not very inspiring at the moment for me I will skip this Jumpstart I just don't have a clue what to do with it. It is a nice video with great tips but I think It's just something that is not something I would do.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 18 (n° 26 & n° 27)

The Jumpstart from Carmen Sanchez is something that I looked forward to. Last year she made us make some heavy paper with relief made out of toiletpaper!
So I wondered what she had up her sleave for us this year ... and it were napkins.
I liked the idea very much, but I had to adapt it a bit. I used used kitchen towel. It was full off "excess" ink, so I was pretty coloured. I used it as background. For the rest I followed kind off what Carmen did.

Jump Start 27 was a giveaway and a video by Maya Road. So I decided to make a little something also.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 17 (n° 24 & n° 25)

Jump 24 is another Technique by Nathalie Kalbach, technique #6.

I love the techniques by Nathalie, they are very inspirational and educational.

My version was something like this.

And the wonderful people of Liquitex offered a giveaway for Jump 25

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 16 (n° 22 & n° 23)

Claudine Hellmuth was the host of Creative JumpStart 2013, jump 22 about transfers.

I tried one on foil with a magazine foto. The photo was very clear before I did the gloss medium step, once it dried it had a lot of fuzzies that became white.

And JumpStart 23 was a giveaway by CocoaDaisy.

Winter Wonderland

I really should be posting crafty post, but at the moment we have snow and as it isn't that often that we see snow around here, I find I have to enjoy this.

And when I'm indoor, well it is to cold in my craftroom where I have no heating :(
I should move into another room in 2 months so I don't have to worry about that any more :)

I'll come back to you guys in a couple of days with crafty projects.

Have a nice time and thank you for reading my blog.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 15 (n° 20 & n° 21)

Today everyone woke up to a white blanket outside, yes Belgium has turned white, it has been snowing like mad here where I live. 15 cm isn't something you see often. So it is always special.

Back to Creative Jumpstart and Janna Werner. I combined the 3 techniques she showed. For one I substituted the plain plastic by bubble wrap because I thought it would be cool, and I loved the result.
Just because I didn't want to work on a white page I did a very light background spray.

As I'm a real Ranger fanatic I used the Dylusions sprays for this project.

Oh I almost forgot, the Jumpstart 21 is a giveaway from Crafty Secrets.

Thank you for reading my blog and enjoy your creative time.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 14 (n° 19)

The Second week for the Jump Start Summit has come to an end already. Time flies when you're having fun.

Today the Jumpstart was from Rachel Greig. She did a really cool technique with white crayon and distress ink that I used for my JumpStart.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 13 (n° 18)

Techniques with Nathalie Kalbach are always special, always fun to do and I always learn a lot.

This time I learned about the paint I used. I had a bit of trouble with the second layer I used, the paint was very thick and with mixing it with water it became very translucent. So I added another color of paint. This solved the opacity but it also made that I had a thick layer of paint on for the 2nd layer, which made it very difficult to pull off the technique. I did manage to pull it off somehow however and after JumpStart when I have a bit more time I do want to experiment a lot with this technique.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 12 (n° 16 & 17)

Anna Björklund was the host for JumpStart n° 16.

I'm posting my lay-out already it will be modified later to add the beads, but I don't have any at the moment and don't know when I'll be able to buy some. So just not to drop too much behind in JumpStarting I'm going to consider that I did this excercise.

JumpStart n° 17 was a giveaway from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 11 (n° 15)

The 11th day of the Creative JumpStart Summit was the one from Christine Delgadillo.
Christine did a really cool transfer technique but used a product that we can't find here in Belgium, so I thought it would be good to dust off the transfer technique I learned in the very first workshop I took by Tanya Watts.

This technique gave me the opportunity to test something I wanted to test quite a while know. I wondered how well the Graphic45 paper would do if used for a transfer.

So after doing the transfer I addes some distress ink to age the page. And finally I journaled a silly text to the page.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 10 (n° 13 & 14)

Today Nathalie has another technique and another giveaway for us. So again two JumpStarts today :)

Nathalie worked with overhead transparencies today and I don't have those, so I got my creative mind thinking and used the backing of some embellishments packaging, it is a bit thicker than the transparencies Nat used but it did the trick.

For the background I went Ranger all the way, it is all distress ink and archival ink the stamps are all Tim Holtz. The only not Ranger or Tim Holtz product I used, as a wink to the giveaway Jump from today, on the background is a stencil from The Crafters Workshop.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 9 (n° 12)

Today's JumpStart is from Catherine Scanlon and is about Journaling. I had lots of fun with it...

The quotes are some of my favourite quotes all time.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 8 (n° 10 & 11)

For Jumpstart n°10 it is another technique from Nathalie Kalbach. I always love them because Nat always really explains it good.

And even with the all the information from Nathalie, I still was able to mess it up a bit. I sprayed to much ink and in combination with the paper that I use (it isn't heavy enough) it started bleeding under the gel medium.

Lessons learned yet again, and I really must hold onto the rule, mixed media only on minimum 150 gr paper.

The JumpStart n° 11 is another nice giveaway this time by prima :)

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 7 (n° 9)

Last night we had a giveway for JumpStart n° 8 so we are already at n° 9. I finished quite late today, but I loved making my piece so much.

The Jumpstart today was brought by Karin Ellis. She made a very beautiful card. I couldn't do all the steps like her because I don't have the materials.

So I just painted the background of my page with acrylic paint. The pattern on it is with a mask and some modelling paste. The Stamps are from "the greeting farm", I pieced the happy couple together with cardstock I colored with the Ranger Distress Stains (every time one or two coloured stains combined with the white one). Even the faces are coloured that way!

And with the ink from the stains that was left on my craft sheet I  have this lovely tag that I can use later :)

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 6 (n° 7)

Today's Jumpstart is by Louise Nelson, who gives a whole new view on crackle.

I didn't really have a crackle stamp so I used one with gears. The technique is easy but tricky you have to be very careful to have only a very fine layer of modelling paste, I in some places had to much on and then the stamping isn't going very well.

So this is my version of todays JumpStart.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 5 (n°6)

The 6th JumpStart is the 2nd one from Nathalie Kalbach.

It is a really cool technique, but I think that you really need stamps with big surfaces. I don't have one so I did the technique with a stamp I have, that is also JumpStart for me, working with what you have.

So this is the result, I stamped twice, the first time it was to dry and the second time to wet to really show of the pattern.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 4 (n°5)

Yesterday I only had limited time to craft, and even didn't have time to post it here on my blog. So today you will have two posts.

This first one is the JumpStart from Sharon Laakonen. I did a tag pocket with the glassbeadgel technique and another tag to put in it and to put a bit of journaling on.

The blue on the glass beads is distress ink the background is also distress and the green on the tag is dylussions ink spray.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 3 (n° 3 & 4)

Woohoo today is a double Jump day @ Creative JumpStart, Nathalie is really spoiling us ... and I love every second of it.

As Jump n° 4 is a giveway so no art for this one.

Jump n° 3 is brought by Heidi Swapp. I loved playing around with the product and the technique. I made one stencil myself and the other one is a regular one.

To be honest the picture didn't come out really good, it makes it seem a lot darker than it is.

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 2

After completing Day 1, I directly jumped to play with the JumpStart Day 2.

Today it was Julie Fei Fan Balzer who showed us 3 ways to play with stencils.

This is my result ...

Creative JumpStart 2013 - Day 1

Yesterday I didn't find the time to start the Creative JumpStart Summit 2013 and that is not the best way to start a new JumpStart. Today I had to make up for the time and start right ahead.

For more information about Creative JumpStart Summit 2013, click on the picture (opens new window).

It was Nathalie Kalbach herself that started this Jumpstart Series, with a cool idea to combine adhesives and embossing powder. This is my version.

12 Tags of 2013 - January

First and foremost I want to wish all of you a very happy 2013 with lots of love and fantastic moments and a good health.

My creative year started already, no time like the present isn't it.

As I love the 12 tags of ... series by Tim Holtz I decided to do them this year. Here is my version of January.
